*UPDATE* The final submission period has been moved to August 26th! The unveiling day is still the 7th of July but because of the low submissions there's been an extension. There's now two months to work on something!
Yeah I know another contest. This time it's the Japanese/Chinese celebration of Tanabata.
"The biggest and long awaited IchixHime contest has finally come back around! This is the third annual Ichigo/Orihime Tanabata Festival. Orihime's name and Kubo associating her with 7/7 (for seventh day of seventh month) as well as naming her after the star "Vega" in one of the title pages is based on the Tanabata. Ichigo would be her Kengyu/Hikoboshi.
Tanabata is also related to Obon holiday. And Ichigo's birthday of July 15 happens to be farewell Obon celebration. So those two holidays intertwine much like Ichigo and Orihime's story does. On another note, the Tanabata's date of 7/7 is associated with the importance of Time and the hope of being together in the future.
___when?
May 1st to July 6th (NOW August 26th!) is the submission period. Please submit all fan fiction, videos, banners, art, and avatars within this time period VIA PM to Lady Orihime before 11:00PM Pacific Standard Time
This year, things will be done differently for the unveiling. Instead of certain days, everything will be unveiled at once to allow more time for deciding whom you would like to vote for.
The unveiling day will, of course, be Tuesday, July 7th. Voting will begin Friday, July 10th and end on Tuesday, July 14th. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, July 15th.
____where?
All contest entries must be sent via Lady Orihime, who will compile the entries for the Festival. Please remember not to post any of your submitted works directly in the IchixHime forums at FLOL, and BA. The times for unveiling the entries have their respective dates in each category. Thank you.
____how?
Simple, folks! First, you create your magnum opus, keeping in mind the characters and theme surrounding the contest. Second, you PM your MO's location to Lady Orihime. Third, you wait for the week of the festival to see the unveiling of your masterpiece. Fourth, you vote for your favorite piece in the contest.
These are very lax how-to, but please follow these rules:
1) All Ages Welcome
2) All submissions must be Ichigo/Orihime/Tanabata related.
3) All submissions must be original works created especially for this contest.
4) Winners under 18 MUST get parent permission, and prove to us that you have permission (letter, call...), to have item(s) shipped to you or to parents if they prefer.
5) Works rated R and up must be tagged as so.
6) You may submit as much work as you want per category; however, only one of those works may be entered in the contest to win the prize. YOU will choose which one you would like to compete. Make sure you tell LADY ORIHIME in the PM/EMAIL which work you would like to enter to win the prize.
7) You can enter all contests if you so desire.
8 ) Do not - I repeat - DO NOT post your works on message boards; FanFiction.net; Live Journal, etc.
9) Even if you don't ship IchixHime, you are still allowed to enter the contest. The more the merrier!
NOTE: The Tanabata Festival contest entries need not REVOLVE around the festival. Some themes surrounding the holiday like, "Stars", "Hope", "Separation", and "Reunion" are more than enough to be admitted in the contest. Please feel free to create your own theme for your entries, as long as it is connected to the Tanabata somehow." By Lady Orihime
[link]I'm entering an artwork, so look forward to that. Although as it stands there aren't any other people that have entered any artwork, so there's a good chance to win the prize! yes there are prizes, this time I'm only giving out one and I had a sponsor to give me the money for it.
There's now more time to enter so please join in. This festival is perfect for Ichigo and Orihime. Let's show those other copy-cat ships what this Bleach ship can do. *gets out pom-poms*
